Worse human experiences: Sports edition
I'm talking the worse things or thoughts that can happen to a sports fan. Sure we can state the obvious ones like team looses the big game, YOU play in the big game and loose. Annoyances like it seems taht every flag goes against your team. Your favorite player retires or gets traded away. Then the straight up on the Double doink. The Double Doink worse thing to ever happen to me or at least top 3 terrible things that have happened to me, but there are worse fears as a sports fan my top 5 biggest fears or possible worse experiences are:
Number 5 Rival wins a championship
Simple as that. You have to watch those jagoffs kick your ass more then anybody that year then you have to watch them parade what ever trophy in that respected sport for the next year. Already hate those MOFOs and its always debating with them who is the better team and that year they prove that they are the better team.
Number 4 having to work on a Championship game day and you miss the game
This one has been on my mind since talking over the Sunday night football game with a friend. I came to terms that okay I'll miss the 1st half but watch the 2nd half and I'll be okay with that. But then I had al this crap thrown on me at work where I had to work an extra 30 mins and when I got home with like 7 minutes left in the 4th. Was fuming that I had to work later then I did and was fuming that the bears where down. My friend was talking me through it cuz I said stupid work shifts 3-9 so gonna get the biggest cock tease of watching the first 2 hours of the Bears game then have to leave for work. Friend said hey at least you got white sox baseball. Heart sunk straight up said I may kill my self if I have to be serving some jagoff meat cuz they decided to go shopping during one of the biggest Chicago sporting moments in years I may never forgive my self if I miss a white sox world series game. So was already looking for a way to get out of work so for sure looking for one now, because I do not want to avoid that.
Number 3 The 1 and a billion chance you end up in a comma and your team wins it all with out you seeing it
Same vain in the working story legit can't get any worse then that.
Number 2 You die and then your team wins it the next year
Once again in the vain of the work story and the coma, But different cuz you are gone at the end comma you can at least watch the season or games when you wake up. I don't know the game watching experience in heaven what if they don't have cable up there or your not in the local area.
Number 1 Catching a baseball then having to give it to a kid
Crack of the bat the ball is high in the air all of a sudden its heading towards your section, traveling further its in your row its coming some more its in your seat and in your hands. It happened you've been waiting your whole life to catch a ball at a game and you did it the child hood dream has come true. You hold the ball in triumph. But everyone looking at you the smile fades from your face because everyone wants you to give the kid a row down from you the ball.
This has to be my biggest fear as a sports fan. I get it its the nice thing to do, but is it the right thing to do? Like I just said, every baseball kid or any body who's been to a baseball game has the childhood dream of catching a homerun ball or at least a foul ball. It doesn't matter it's a big league ball that you caught. I'm in my 20's and have been going to games since I was at least 3 waiting for the ever elusive ball to land in my hands. Know how many times I have missed a foul ball cuz it drifts off to another section, lands in the upper deck , landed a few rows a head of me, maybe even same row I want to say. Catching a ball is 1 and a trillion chance and imagine you do the impossible only for you to be bullied, which its 2021 bullying not cool, bullied into giving the ball to some snot nose kid who's gone to what 5 games in his life. I've but my time in by seeing balls go by me, sat through 2013-2018 white sox rebuilds watch Paul Konerko retire[don’t care if he was old and left on his own terms still sad seeing your favorite player leave] watched the Cubs win the World Series. My time has been put in, suffered through the worse and stood by only do the impossible and be forced to give up my dream to make some random kid happy? NO welcome to the South side scumbags kid this is my ball. You can wait your 20 something years to catch your ball.
