Super Fan Max goes to The Theatre
I know this is a Sports heavy blog. But It's a Drama/Theater and Art blog today. Because Well it Finally happened I've seen Hamilton…. And IT sucked my sister finally had us all sit down and watch Hamilton. And I don’t know if its just me and my natural ability to go against the grain or I the natural ability to just dislike every thing that is popular or get on the trend late but this Play/musical was not as good as it seemed
And no no no I'm not some idiot who has never seen a play before slamming Hamilton. I've seen quite a few musicals in my time. I'm no opera snob but I'm also not an uncultured swine either, I know a thing or two, when it come to plays.
Let me slam on Ham for a bit. Just way over hyped was a good play but not as good as everyone says. Didn't change my life, didn't have me singing as I left my couch just did not do it for me. And
Spoiler alert if you every read a history book you know what happens. He was a founding father. After all he is on the 10 dollar bill and created the US banking system blah blah blah, Another spoiler he dies at the end. He expects to not get shot because its honorable if he just shoots up? Last time I checked if you are in a fire fight and have a weapon its wise to return fire in the direction you are getting shot from. I'm not a genus but even I know that. I don't care if its a duel either Hamilton you where a genius but didn't even know that.
This isn't even Lin Manuel miranda best work. This is
But you want to talk about a Real Musical one that wasn't even electric. If there was a synonym higher then Electric you use it here. This play was simply amazing. I'm Talking about Mary Poppins.
1. Mary Poppins hands down number one don't care if it’s the first real play I seen. You never score the 1st one high since there is no way anything could beat it. But There will never be a play that could beat it. This set the bar to every musical I have seen since I was 9 or 10, and nothing will ever come close to beating it.
The way I seen Mary Poppins was My grandparents got us the tickets for our birthdays or Christmas. We are a working class family. And our grandparents wanted to give us the gift of an experience of culture. Of a play, going downtown at night experiencing something that we never did before. This play/musical was amazing start to finish. Chim Chimmer, A Spoonful of Sugar, and how can I for get Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Her flying off at the end Great all around nothing will ever come close to it.
I know my grandparents don’t use computers or Internet or have a shot of ever reading This blog. but I hope I thanked them properly after I seen the show. I can't thank them enough.
2. Even do I barely remember Oklahoma it was different I never seen it before. It was a field trip da so Oh what a Beautiful day You got singing cowboys, square dancing farmers fighting with cowboys, shootings, and corruption in the court its got it all. What do you expect it the the wild wild west its Oklahoma!
4. Waitress
You got terrible situations, soul searching, chasing pipe dreams, lust, dirty jokes, and pies This play was pretty good even do it is one step above to very bad ones. The play is set in the south and is all modern. So its almost like a movie rather then an old timey play. I of course liked Dawn a semi character. Not main actor but not the lead. The side kick.
5. Hamilton
Read Intro to this blog. If you are some how a psycho and did not read that part go back to it.
6. La La Land
Worse play/musical movie I have ever seen. This probably shouldn't even count as an actual play since it is a movie but I hate it that much that I need to disrespect it and count it. First off I was dragged to go see this. Did not want to go at all but was made to go. Was told we are going to the movies and seeing LA LA Land do you want to go?
I said no
I was told no your coming so I had to go.
So right off the bat this movie/play was not going to go good.
My biggest issue with this movie is that they Say jazz is always changing but the guy plays the same fucking piano riff jingle what ever its called non stop yeah thats jazz
they play this several times through out the movie I don't care to keep looking but as some one who kind of like jazz for some reason I did not care for disrespected of it. Thats why La La Trash land is at number 6.
I feel like I am missing a play or two but can't remember for the life of me what it is. So onto the low budget but still well but together plays I have seen in my life welcome to the.
Bonus ranking of every non pro play I’ve seen speed ranking no more then 3 line explanation if I could even do that.
starting with the Mother McAuley musicals
Foot loose best sound track catchiest weird I have it at number especailly after them not having the tractor scene.
les miserables strong number 2 a story I never heard before really liked the
french revolution song
White Christmas- heard some of the story before but most part unknow but since thats why its at 3 still a good play do.
Grease If there was going to be any disrespect on a play its this one maybe I seen it to many time in movie form just its a 4 person race one has to sadly come in 4th
then the others Semi Pro but all seen at curie high school for some reason
Elixir of Love Semi pro Both where seen on a field trip because the Lyric Opera house use to
Magic flute semi pro too do some type of program where they would have students act the opera
The Grinch Curie students
Charlie brown Curie students. Not much to say just saw them there I was like 6/7/8 it was another high school play
I feel like I seen a couple play in high school but have no idea what they where when the Rita boys did it and Macbeth where we got in trouble.
Plays I started in
Elixir of Love as Dr Dulcamara I was a man star there is only like 8 major roles and I was one of them.
kindergarten graduation play: Little red hen - I believe I was a purple cat in this play but I got Margies Ice cream after wards and my diploma
Magic Flute I was a Priest only talking role we used to lip sing all the words same for Elixir of love lip sang. But since I was behind a curtain for most of the play its at 3.

Thank you grandma and grandpa I love you, Thanks for the gift of Mary Poppins.🖤
A couple other Plays I have seen in my life where through school for the most part. At The Lyric Opera of Chicago. I have no idea why but for some reason my grammar school was always making us go to the Opera or doing things with Opera. But I always enjoyed it going downtown taking the Orange line. Me coming off as a genius because I know how to load money on to and how to buy an old CTA bus/train pass.
They are Oklahoma and The Sound of Music

3. Sound of Music could never sit through the movie. I seen so much of the Sound of Music that I should of known how it ended by the time I was 9. But it took me to the age of 14 to figure out they where running away from NAZi's at the end. Did you know this? To this day I still haven't even watch the end of the movie but thanks to the play in person I know how it ends. And I have sang DO RA MI so many times in music class its not even funny, I pretty much am the 8 [in the movie 11in real life ] Von Trapp kid.
