Play Station 2 appreciation Blog
As quarantine, light lock down, what ever we are in and people aren't listening to anymore comes to an end or is still going on who knows at this point.I've been in my house blogging or doing nothing all day for the record following what ever rules we are supposed to be following. I did something. I played video games specifically my playstation 2 for the first time since like 2012. And man o man besides getting my ass kicked by the computer it was kinda fun. Now I get why my parents never bought or allowed me to have a gaming system in my house. Because I be fatter, dumber, lazier then I already am since I would just want to "game" all day.
No NO NO too we did not have that sleek skinny one that came out in 2004. We had that big old chunky one our playstation was missing no meals.
I vaguely remember when we got it but it had to be mid 2000's any where from 2004-2006. Lets split the difference and say 2005 was one of the best years of my life Sox just won the World Series I was in Kindergarten I just learned how to write my favorite number 4 and 7 naps in class where acceptable. I was a bright eye 5 year old with out any responsibilities and with out a care in the world. Cherry on top I just gotten a new playstation for Christmas to share with my siblings.

This probably was the most advance piece of tech we had in out house hold it went:
Playstation 2
MiniVan
Landline that looked like a payphone that rapped when it rang.
As You can tell the Super Fan house hold had the most advance tech in our apartment hell even block I am assuming.
This state of the Art technology was used purely for gaming, DVD playing but had the capability to link up to playstation [1] and connect to the internet. We never did the last two things but man this thing was advance. That was the body make up for the console the really heart and soul of Playstation where the games. This was my all star line up of games.
My favorite Looney Tunes back in action [Game Play] Bugs was the way better character to play as.
Spider Man They had the sickest intro [Game Play] and there was a mini game where you could train and fight which was awesome
Star Wars Battle Front [Game Play] Being on the Dark side was the best part of the game
MLB the Show 08 [Game Play] upset I can't find some white sox game play but thanks Billy for that birthday gift Never got the hang of this game why are all sport video games so hard.
Guitar Hero II which could be a short blog all by its self [link at a later day] [Game Play]
Surrender was my song. I never got to use the guitar either. I used the controller Im just saying winner got guitar but when I won it was time to stop playing.
Midway Arcade Treasures [Game play]This was a mixture of games my favorite was tapper, paper boy, and Klax
Namco Museum [Game Play]Best thing about this game was some how if you played Mrs. Pac-Man or Pac-Man enough you unlocked secret games
High School Musical Sing It [Trailer ] totally my game
Madden 03 [Game Play]This Madden is so old that Soldier Field wasn't even in the game that was the year Da bears played in Urbana Champaign
NFL Europe teams where still in the game at the time too and first year the Texans where in a Madden game
And how did all those games start to with this bad mammagamma of a load screen
this was always cool looking I wish this was a game you where a little color dot and had to race or something.
As you can tell I only rolled 9 games deep. and there are supposedly around 4218 games created for Playstation. So as you can tell I missed out on alot of games.
A-Train 6/DrumMania/Eternal Ring/Kakinoki Shogi IV/ Kessen/ Mahjong Taikai III/ Morita Shogi/ Ridge Racer V/ Stepping Selection / Street Fighter EX3 so if you got the Playstation on 3/4/2000 you got one of these games
Notable games I missed out on was a racing game. Every gaming system has to have a racing game Need for Speed, Crash Tag Team racing, The Simpsons Road Rage/Hit and Run. And a fighting game WWE Smackdown here comes the pain, Mortal Kombat and dragon ball z.
random games I think the most 2000 thing ever is JackAss the game could it get more 2000 then that? you probably had a controller in one hand and Gripz in the other
Also quick fact section of things I only learned about now while writing this blog. That I just have to let you know
-Could be turned into a computer if you bought a linux kit the whole system could transform into a computer
-First real system that could stand up due to its design and that it used disc instead of cartridges for the games
-a guy changed his name to Playstation2 and tried to marry the system
-those towers when you first turn the game on[ can see in the start up video above] Those towers represent every game you ever played/saved on the game system
-9/2/2018 was the last day you could get your playstation 2 repaired
-when the slim playstation 2 came out in 2004 they let the big boys sell out but a cargo ship carrying them to China to UK got blocked by an oil tanker blocked them causing a shortage right before Christmas poor kids who didn't get a PS2 that year.
decline over the years like anything else in life the new kids show up on the block and take over PS3 Xbox 360 Wii. It got old at the time things evolved and got better it got out dated. But still holds up to this very day. I was supposed to have a 7 year life span that spanned to 13. The stopped production in 2012 and the kept selling for a whole year after wards. Say what you want But playstation 2 died but didn't crash and burn out it went gracefully.

Grand Theft Auto III the ultimate Playstation 2 game, Madden 2005, SOCOM II:US Navy Seals, Max Payne, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4.was it me or did every movie have a video game at this time too. From Finding Nemo, Lego Star wars, lord of the rings, The Incredibles, Spongebob Squarepants, if a movie came out in 2000's it had a game trust me. also was it me but in like 2009-2011 when a game got released there was easily like 20 different ways the game could be bought for a system and played. multiple devices/ consoles for one game

realistically this should of been blogged around the time the release of Playstation 5. But no no no no When you are the Number 1 selling gaming console of all time 155 million deep you don't deserve to be over shadowed by the playstation 5. Playstation 2 walked, ran, sprinted swam, did everything so future gaming consoles had a standard.
