Chicago Blackhawks: Black History
As we know hockey gets the wrap that it's a white sport. Since it's a prominently a white player sport. But like anything eventually it includes all people. The Chicago Blackhawks have at one time or another had 9 black hockey players, play for the team and they are:
Tony McKegney a Left Winger who's career spanned from 1978–1991, and an abundance of teams that where BUF, QUE, MNS, NYR, STL, DET, CHI. He had a brief 9 game stint with the Hawks and had one assist.
These next couple of players played a major role in Blackhawks history and dynasty from 2010-2015 so a quick thanks to does guys
Jamal Mayers RW played in the NHL from1996–2013 and with STL, TOR, CGY, SJS, CHI. We where the last stop on his long journey. Played 100 games for Da Hawks. Through out his whole career he served 1200 Penalty minutes. And I can't link one or two fights I'm just gonna link you to the google search page of his several fights. But this ruff and tumble guy Ain't that bad he seems to be a nice guy who likes to write children books and give back to the Chicago community.
Johnny Oduya an amazing Defensemen from 2006–2018 and on NJD, ATL, WPG, CHI, DAL, OTT, PHI. Defiantly remembered for both is play and how crazy his name looks. He played with us from 2011-2015 and then again in 2016-17 for 15 games. I don't care what every one to say is his greatest play in his whole life is but his missed shot in the 2nd goal attempt in the 2 goals in 17 secs is his greatest play.
Ray Emery Goalie from2002–2015 for OTT, PHI, ANA, CHI. Ray was a back up for the Hawks in 2013 help us get a ring that year and change Cory Crawfords work habits to become a better goalie. Ray was always bouncing around the league and liked by every team he played with. Hockey is a long strenuous sport he retired before the start of the 2016 season. Unfortunately as he was enjoying his retirement in the summer of 2018 he passed away. Due to jumping into the water while yachting he drowned early in the morning.
Dustin Byfuglien one of the only African American the rest where all Canadian or sweeden born players. D from 2005–present and forCHI, ATL, WPG. He played a good couple seasons fro the Hawks started at Defensemen then switching to right winger to give a big body presense by the goal. But his best year for the Hawks was in 2010 when he help complete the one goal of winning the Stanley Cup ending our drought of 49 years and he did that by putting up 11 goals and 5 assists in that magical playoff run. 3 of his 11 goals came in perfect time during the finals series
And finally we have Malcolm Subban Goalie ,career start 2014 present and played for BOS, VGK, CHI, He has not played for the Hawks yet came to Chicago in a trade a few weeks ago but you know the whole season is on hiatus. Speaking of the Subban we have PK Subban these guys are brothers.[not like that you racist]
PK Subban is currently one of the more famous hockey players, who also so happens to be black. But is African-Canadian. Even do I hated him for playing for Nashville, he says if best start at 2:24 and here is another video I can not find the specific one but there is a video of him saying Hockey is for everyone. I seen people get interested in hockey because of him people see some one that look like them and can feel that "yeah this sport is for anyone. Its a long way before every one is playing but is a good step forward." Sports shouldn't be divided anymore they should be used as a common interest to break down the walls of racism.
PS..Shout out Robbie Earl too he didn't play for the Hawks but is a Chicago guy even do he grew up in LA.

Dirk Graham right winger from1983–1995 and a two team guy MNS, CHI has alot of Blackhawks first, first captain of black descent in all of the NHL, first black head coach which didn't go so well since he coached 59 games and went 16-35-8 but as a player he represented the Chicago and team as it should be the hardest working team. As a player he scored 20+ points in four different seasons. 52 of his 219 NHL goals and had 343 of his 489 points with the Blackhawks he could throw down do.

Definitely in the Chicago best mustache group |
Trevor Daley a Defensemen who started in 2003 as is still playing to this day,DAL, CHI, PIT, DET.He was a try and repeat/reload player for the Hawks not a huge impact with only 29 games and 6 assists. We where trying to catch lighting in a bottle thats it.
Anthony Duclair a LeftWinger who is a young player in the league starting out in 2014 and still playing today. He's played with NYR, ARI, CHI, CBJ, OTT. He is one of those Hawks players who came and went fast was inconsistent with play after he was acquired via trade only played 23 games 2 goal sand 6 assists . He was a free agent after his one year with the Hawks and that was it.
Andreas Martinsen LW 2015–present COL, MTL, CHI not a major game changer for the Hawks kinda of just there since the Hawks were/ are on the decline of when he was with us. Played more games for the AHL icehogs then actual team Hogs 102-Hawks 33 at least he scored 2 goals and 3 assists with 31 penalty mins.[Gosh we are so bad currently]These next couple of players played a major role in Blackhawks history and dynasty from 2010-2015 so a quick thanks to does guys
