The boys are STAYING in town.
The Chicago Bears/Geroge McCaskey are running it back one more year with Coach Nagy, GM Ryan Pace, and Ted Philips. Like every Bears fan right now, aaaa I don't know how to feel. We got a window that is closing or is about to be shut to win a super bowl hell may have even passed us by. So moves have to/ had to be made quickly. Like I said I don't know how I feel, I'm still sad about that Lost from sunday. Which yes I have been avoiding about talking about.
My few thoughts are them running it back one more year is that Ted Philips is not a a great President yes 8-8 is good enough for the playoffs when they extend it to 7 teams but if you want a first round bounce every-time 8-8 is perfect. We are tired of building culture around this team President Philips. This team is supposed to be Lunch Bucket/ Grabowskis, punch you in the nose, kick your ass, take no prisoners stop the other teams run with a killer front 7, and a run the ball down the other teams throat. But know what we are a once proud team who peaked in like the 40's.The Bears are like you Teddy, as in a Teddy Bear team. WE are supposed to be feared the logo scares you but the actions do not.
Ryan Pace on the other hand he could of been fired I would of been 40% upset 60% good he's gone. He makes dumb chooses. He makes the team and what has he been making? IT looked like an above average team which went down to a subpar team. Ryan Pace can be summarized in one way a Home run hitter and that's it. Pace either knocks it out of the park or not at all.
let's take a glance at Pace's first draft prime example of hit or miss.
1st Round - WR Kevin White (7th overall) - injuries so never did much
2nd Round - NT Eddie Goldman (39th overall)under ratted so good
3rd Round - C Hroniss Grasu (71st overall)- never heard of
4th Round - RB Jeremy Langford (106th overall)- never a number one 3rd back on a team so not good
5th Round - SS Adrian Amos (142nd overall)
was a great player for us now a great player for the packers and haunts us all the time
6th Round - OT Tayo Fabuluje (183rd overall) never heard of
It's just unexpectable to have that type of hit or miss "culture". I like Pace at times but he just stinks the joint up at time.
Nagy shortest paragraph. Sucks at play calling at times, but I like what he's done with the team not the worse not the greatest. I know coaches help the team but you see what you coach and he's coaching the best of what he see's/gets from Pace. I firmly believe that you need to give a coach time to develop to be good. Instead of firing him after 3 years in which he was 28-20[22 -2 playoff loses] it's not the greatest but not the worse imaginable thing. Technically never had a loosing season, grant it he is 8-8. Out of the 3 Nagy is not the Problem. Pace and Ted Philips should be fired before Nagy if you wan't my opinion on the matter.
We are so close but so far to a super bowl and I get why the Halas -McCaskey clan don't want to start firing people. There are alot of holes or players that have the potential of leaving and causing more problems for this team in the future only time will tell this off season. This could the close of a 3-4 window where we had the chance to win but didn't, with another complete rebuild on the way. Which I am not ready for but looks like we are staring down the barrel of that.
I also herd the press conference was horrible, I was at work being a essential worker at a hospital unloading furniture. [ no no please don't clap i'm not a hero] So didn't watch it but I heard it was bad and basically those are my thoughts on what they pretty much said or from what I heard about what went down.
