Closing the Stock yards looks stupid now
Chicago back in the day had steel mills, construction we where as blue collar as a city can be, we are the Grabowskis after all grab the tools, grab a ride to work, grab lunch bucket its time to work. Know what the main job for the longest time was Butcher. After all we had have the title the Hog butcher for the world. It had to be relevant at one time or another.
Opening on Christmas day 1865 and closing July 30, 1971 The union Stock yards was the place to work. They had no rules it was a free for all in those slaughter houses leaving the meat on the floor, let it sit out all day, a mixture of human and rat in that sausage for sure. And what do you do with all the waste from a days worth of work? just toss it in the river and change that section of the Chicago River to Bubble Greek.
Reason Why its was stupid to shut down the wild wild west of meat packing even do there was real FDA regulations in the modern world towards the end that made it lame. Which we all know where not strongly enforced cuz its Chicago. Today People in the meat industry are getting sick due to the Coronavirus. Major packing plants are shutting down due to major outbreaks, in South Dakota alone there was 200 cases reported. And that place in South Dakota accounts for 5% of all pork in the US of A . Thats a lot of beef I know beef is cow
So with people stock piling at their house, stores only able to carry so much and get their hands on so much. That there gonna have to start raising prices to mach the demand. If the old Stock yards where around you have the sick people come in do the Job this is Chicago the City that works. If anything if the Stock yards where around today you just have the School kids go in and work their probably not sick. Plus make all the CPS kids go not a diss on them but did you know they are just getting laptops or tablets for school work what have then been doing these past couple of weeks? I know exactly what we could of had them. Instead we are asking our selfs this.
In these troubling times.. Rappers won't be able to have diss tracks cuz they can't afford beef.
Tyson is shutting down to so savor those dino nuggets, don't eat all the bacon at once we have no idea whats going on with your meat.

interesting fact I can't exactly back up but apparently certain parts of Canaryville and the Back of the Yards. Where the animals would be kept in pens and stuff as they awaited there butchered deaths they would often escape and run around on the streets. Also they never got ride of the laws saying where the animals are to be kept. So technically in those neighborhoods you can own cows or pigs and no one can say anything because the law says you could.
