DePaul v UIC basketball

College hoops

Some how this blog got lost in my Draft folder between, ha ha got you no future blog spoilers. But in December to open my winter break I decided to experience some college hoops and I'm not a huge college sports guy for some reason. But who cares for 16 bucks and nothing better to do I said why not. So took the train and stuff down there cold day but not horrible and I have to say it’s a great experience.

So I get off the train have to walk a few blocks follow the masses standard stuff. Wintrust has a big open section by the doors for lines and such. And low and behold all over the place you got ticket scalpers. Little upset about this I spend $16 on a ticket could of got one for $10 day of, plus their ticket designs was way color then my lame standard one. But anyways I go over to will call get my ticket go through security whole bang and caboodle. Make my way to the 300 level and the stadium is not backed.  And don’t give me the” o DePaul is on winter break garbage” the DePaul Faithful demon nation is weak besides like three guys. They turn off all the lights like they are the bulls for the intro. Which would be cool if they came out of a tunnel instead of off the bench. And if they had cooler intro music. Well any way back to the game it was okay a 86-65 game they blew the socks off the UIC flames. And even do I had a DePaul foam finger and my Animal house college sweater, I was still going for the Flames. In this great Chicago Cross town college hoops match up.

But even in the bad of the team I was rooting for lost the DePaul Wintrust arena got a lot to offer they got a kids section that I didn’t go in. [the security guard who stopped me, you on my list, I don’t know what the list is but trust me 9/10 times you don’t want to be on a list ] the whole stadium smells like pop corn and even do half of it ended up on me. They also have a live blues band play during half time. Which was pretty awesome. Connecting that small forgotten part of Chicago blues music to the people.
Only real picture I have from the game but look at the views

I will also admit the stadium is pretty cool how it’s built close to the action even high up. It would be or would have the potential of being more electronic since a small stadium if DePaul students cared about sports and not being social justice warriors.

PS. It turns out is was a double feature game but they dubbed me. They actually didn’t mention a double header when buying the ticket, so it was cool finding out about a bonus game for Alabama. I thought thats cool Alabama University turns out it was Alabama state. I left no disrespect to women’s basketball only because I had to be home by 5:30 pm.
